    ehh watertown NY anyone?

I'll be moving there for a yr starting Oct. Not sure what to expect. Searching on wiki, Watertown is the birthplace of the safety pin. Wow, kinda scary to know I'll be living their soon.

NY is not part of new england. NY, NJ, PA is reffered to as the tri-state. CT, RI, mass, ME, VT, NH is new england.

Seeing how southerners are with their precious weather, chances are you wont last long. Lots of snow, cold, fucked up pothole riddled roads, 200 year old houses with steam heat and rope and pulley windows. You'll be running back to texas real quick.

FWIW, the "Tri-State Area" refers to NY, NJ, and CT. In other words, the suburbs of NYC.

Of course CT is in New England. And NJ is actually Mid-Atlantic. But they're both part of what's commonly called the "Tri-State Area" (and parts of them fall into the "NY Metro Area").

Anyway, it's not like "Tri-State Area" has any real meaning. It's not an actual geographical term. Anyway, here's what google has to say about it: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tri-State_Region

Watertown is a pretty boring city, usually pretty cold. However, it is about 30 mins away from Canada if you wanted to take a trip to Toronto or the Mosport Park track. Also, Sacketts Harbor is nearby, which is a really nice small town right on Lake Ontario. A cool place if you are into old war stuff, as it was a battlefield site of the War of 1812.

Syracuse isn't too far away, and the Rochester/Buffalo region (about 2-2 1/2 hours away from Watertown) has a small E30 crowd.
