Recommendations for a nice drive in Long Island area (or other)

I'm trying to plan out a nice route for a fun drive either in Long Island or elsewhere. I know the Bear Mtn area but don't know too many roads there either.

Can anyone offer some fun routes?

^ true, but most of the roads have a fair amount of traffic and are full of bad pot hole. Not to mention Lloyd Harbor PD

I went for a drive to Jones Beach last night with a buddy. We went up to Captree State Park and then turned around. It was pretty empty around 8pm and we got to have some fun heh

How old is this thread? Anyway, better late than never....if you got the time, do 27 all the way out to montauk. Beautiful drive. There are some stretches without much traffic, and no lights where you can drive pretty fast with some nice scenery. You do go through some towns eventually, but out in the Hamptons it's pretty nice cruising. Go all the way out to Montauk and the speed limit climbs to at least 60, you got smooth winding roads, up and down hills, and it'll take you out to the lighthouse. The 2nd most eastern point in the USA, next to Maine. Real nice. Took Chewbacca out there last week to celebrate her repairs.

Out of state: Kancamagus Highway (Rt. 112) in NH. It links Lincoln and Conway, through the White Mountains. Awesome scenery, relatively high speed. Lots of twists, turns, elevation changes and changing weather. 26.5 miles.
