passing inspection in Jersey with a bad cat

Anybody know of any places in jersey I have a chance of passing inspection? no holes in the exhaust or anything I just didnt pass the exhaust probe test.

    Thanks.

Unfortunately it's getting hard to "buy" your way into an inspection sticker these days, reason being they're changing the way they make the inspection stickers. Not even my best mechnic buds could give me leads to buying my way into passing.

You're going to have to get a cat :(

I wanted to delete it. I do have an extra from my black vert turned parts car via tree. It passed a year ago.

Does NJ use the emissions testing sensor in the tail pipe? I know in NY for non od2-cars it is simply a visual check to make sure the lights/brakes work, and there are no bad leaks. Other than that, anything is fairgame

yes NJ does the tail pipe sensor test at least at the location I went to. Maybe someone knows one in jersey that doesn't?

That would be great because my CEL isnt on.

That sucks man I assume you passed?

Anyone know of a private inspection place that doesn't care? I just want that sticker. If I gave a shit about my carbon foot print I wouldn't be dailying an e30.

this might be a bit far, but in the paramus inspection station, my buddy with a s2k running 0 cats and full exhaust passed. dont ask me how i still cant believe it.... the guy told him next time he's gotta put cats on.

btw this is the same inspection station that failed my 95 m3 with hi flow cats... so its a 50/50 shot

I also work in Montvale. I have a good cat for an E sitting around I was planning to sell for scrap. PM me if interested.
Unfortunately the days of getting a shop to put another car on the rollers in NJ is over. The consequences for getting caught are too high nowadays

My 88 vert didn't pass inspection either..... I'm just going to buy an aftermarket Cat...from Magnaflow and take it back for reinspection. Shouldn't be a big deal.

Mine failed today too. It didn't pass the idle test. I have until May 31st for reinspection,
but can I still drive it with the red restricted tag on the windshield?

yes you can just have the papers they handed you with the date of your failed inspection in the car in case you get pulled over and have to prove that its been less than 30 days.
