    Queens Resident. First E30.

    What up Tri-State,

I'm getting my hands on my first e30 this weekend. It's an 87 325e coupe.

I have no idea where to start in terms of upgrading and maintenance. I'm not a car guy but I wouldn't mind doing some of work myself. Where should I start? Hoses? Fluids? Belts? Where did most of you start?

Can anyone recommend a local shop for repairs? Where do most of you get your parts? eBay? Guten? Bavarian? I apologize for all the questions.

    Any help would greatly appreciated.

    Peace.

Brake pads are a good place to start. Not hard to do yourself if you have a socket set and a jack

+1 for parts and service both at OMG Motorworks.
The first maintenance item I address after buying an e30 is the timing belt unless I have super solid evidence that it's been replaced within the service interval period.

There's no point in doing that if you don't need to. Start replacing belts and hoses, those are the things you don't want to fail. Suspension is probably next because if it hasn't been done it needs to be.
The first car I ever rode in was an e30

Thanks for the advice. I'll look at the hoses tonight. I most def will make OMG my first stop. This car needs some sorting out electrically.
