I love a good road trip, glad it went smoothly.
Car looks great!

For $400 I would be buying the spare engine.
Then build it on the bench with new HG, studs, and skimmed head.
Once it's ready to go, swap it in the car. Minimize downtime and now you...

alpinaseeone said that he tested a fixed timing angle with a timing light at idle and had to adjust the trigger...Last edited by Panici; 03-08-2024, 08:57 AM.

Making big moves with the job change!
Best of luck with the new path, and hopefully it will give you more wrench time on the E30.

Remove the boost controller from your setup until you figure out how the gate is working with spring and boost reference alone. Will make troubleshooting easier.
What kind of wastegate...

Maps attached.
We were still roughing in the VE table, think this was one of the first WOT pulls.
I didn't realize we pulled all the way to 6000rpm, I thought we got to 4000-ish....Last edited by Panici; 03-05-2024, 06:20 AM.

I personally run richer then that both at part throttle and WOT.
Some of this is personal preference. I would rather use a little more fuel then risk detonation.
If you have bad fuel...Last edited by Panici; 02-28-2024, 07:35 AM.

It should physically bolt onto the engine but there are some points you'll need to consider:- Flywheel/Clutch/Pressure Plate/Slave Cyl configuration.
- Driveshaft length and connection (giubo) to transmission

Nice results with the dent removal. Came out pretty good considering it's right on a hard body line.
I've done the hammer and 2x4 style before, but never tried my hand with real PDR tools.

That's a serious switch collection!
I bet you'd be able to sell them on eBay, there is even a "quantity" field you could use to list the duplicates in the same auction.
Just...

Nice. Good to hear that timing isn't too aggressive.
Lot of canned tunes hinge on good fuel quality, which IMO is only okay if you have knock sensors and can dynamically pull timing like the original...
