This has happened to me. Jiggle the steering wheel a little harder as you jiggle the key. Then once you get the key to turn, look into pulling the lock core and removing the steering wheel to find...Leave a comment:

There is a washer on top of the top hat. Use the one from the e9x as it's beefier than the e30 one and will spread the load.
