The Bilstein shaft should be about 14mm and the strut mount should be a nice fit. I'm going to say the upper strut mount he ordered is for a larger shock, not the standard stock.

When I did my rack swap (non airbag car) I only had to modify the rubber donut with solid bushings. No change to the collapsing feature of the column.

With my airbag cars I had to modify...
