    My E30's death

I am so fucking sad at the moment, but happy in the sense that everything and everyone is okay. I was driving home last night on I95 while raining and what seemed like a 12-14wheeler style truck decides to switch into my lane real close. There was light traffic, so i look to my right and switched lanes at the same time to not trail behind the truck, when my car hydroplanes clockwise at 65-70mph. There was absolutely nothing that i could do to regain control. I kept calm as the feeling is kind of familiar (i drift, this is my drift car). I tried doing my best but there was absolutely no traction or steering response, i got scared. Next thing i know, i'm facing the front of the truck's trailer which is at about the height of my roof AND I'M HEADING TOWARDS IT!!!!!!!!!!! i don't remember exactly what i did but i remember locking my brakes on purpose to continue going straight in my lane but that was OH so useless. A second later i was under the trailer and the FUCKING WHEELS OF THE TRUCK HIT MY PASSENGER DOOR, the crunching noise was just terrifying, the car shock up and down as i tried something to get out from under the trailer then it finally got my front fender on something and it spat me out, still hydroplaning at the same fucking speed because the asshole driving the trailer didnt even bother to brake/slow down, steer away NOTHING! that SOB almost killed me!

i finally gained control again, still in the same lane i was before and the cars braked behind me is my best guess because no cars passed me and i saw no more cars. My car seemed fine so i turned into the fast lane and into the emergency lane...the truck kept going, not even a brake light! A friend recognized my car and pulled over with me, i just couln't get out of the car idk why until he opened the door for me. I was so calm that i didnt notice i had the pass glass all over myself, or that windshield was cracked and that the roof was dented inward, it did smelled like burnt rubber. I got out of the car, we called police to report the truck and inspected the damage...the car was still running.

i then proceeded to determine whether having the police come with no truck was the best thing....i was scared, didnt want problems, didnt want to lose my license, get fined, go to jail, hospitals, legal crap, loose my car to some yard that would strip it the second they saw it and so i drove away...yes the car drove believe it. Insurance doesnt cover s52 swaps and mods. I have to say that the E30 is friking tank PERIOD my acura would've gotten ran over. You can't imagine all the scenarios that i've thought about in the last 12hours, thankfully my family is always there and now i found myself trying to calm my mother down instead.

oh....nobody else pulled over, i imagine someone else also called 911 but i was probably home by the time anyone got there.

i won't have you read this whole thing w.o a pic

what's going to happen now?.....nothing, i don't want anything to do with this car for a some time, i'm about to graduate so idk, haven't given it much thought, though the experience was worth writing here about. the only thing i see that could've maybe..and just maybe..avoided the accident is tires. The tires still have some of life left they are almost bald just not quite there yet and they are 235/60-14s. i will never again drive on nearly spent tires, there's a reason the law has a minimum thread, this must be it.

the pic doesnt show how far that roof is bent but i hope somoene here can benefit from the experience.
    No more e30s for me.

Holy shit, man. Unreal, to say the least. Good to hear you are OK, and you are right, if you were in your Acura, the funeral would have been closed casket.

                Closing SOON!

Seriously, when the highway is really flooded/drenched I keep it down myself. When i had truely crappy tires, 30mph around a corner was too much in city traffic.

Dude you are super lucky. Glad you are alright after that big ordeal. Cars can be fixed/replaced.

Any trouble now from the law enforcement and insurance?

                        Wow.

I am glad you are ok. I see these type of things 10+ times a day. "professional" drivers that get on top of the car in front of them and change lanes, seemingly without looking.

I hope he gets what he has coming and looses his license.

Hang in there man you are very lucky and I am glad you shared this.

                        Thanks

WOW! That's an incredible story! You are very very lucky yo be alive - wow. Glad you're doing alright.

Looks like much can be salvaged from the car, so that's a good thing.

Any news on finding the semi? I cannot imagine he didn't notice you swinging underneath his trailer?! I mean, come on, that could cause a lot of extra drag - he HAD to notice!!

have not and im not even sure if i ever will. i might salvege everything from the car someday...sad thing is that it happened maybe 3-4miles from my house. hope karma bites this trucker in the balls

i'm glad to say Happy easter to all of you; no matter what religion you are, God is watching. There is no one scratch on me, the fact that i was able to drive this car home proves they are safe cars. Its been my experience that these are stable cars even at higher speeds so i won't be afraid, just more careful.

it was a truly impacting experience that i've re-lived atleast 67times since and i just can't figure out how/why i got myself into that situation...things can go wrong so fast, i'm sure all of you know it, but if friking real.
                              No more e30s for me.
