8 years - time for another thread bump. Is there any decent music out there anymore or am I best advised to stick to the older stuff? Recently I just bought Tool's first three albums and ripped them into iTunes. I'll probably narrow that down to 6 or so songs that I dig and keep those on my iPhone playlist. I do a lot of driving for work and am getting bored of my same old stuff. Maybe I should get into podcasts and start a podcast thread?

Podcasts podcasts podcasts. I commute over an hour each way every day for work and got bored of music quick, so I started downloading podcasts and its awesome. I rarely listen to music anymore on my commute to / from work.

Yes Podcasts for commuting are a must! Joe Rogan is a top choice just for plain content their's interviews for every kinda person. Avg. 2-3hrs so It can fill up a whole trip or two.
Stuff you should know is pretty good as well
Plus a couple good news podcasts as well

NPR Tiny Desk Concert. Each is only 3 songs long, decent variety. Wolf Alice and Valley Queen impressed me, lots of others if that's not your groove.

Not sure if any of you are into records, but they just remastered the white album for the 50th anniversary. Been listening to that, along with some Coheed and Cambria, and New Order's Substance.

I'm on an old music kick lately for sure. The only newer stuff I listen to at all is obscure psychedelic house and disco. I've been all over the place lately, but mostly dark and from the 70s thru 90s.

Random find: just picked up a mint Substance on cassette to play in the e30

Sounding great. Harder and harder to find good tapes these days
