    WTB: Camshaft

I want to put a cam in my head before I put it together (2.7 crank 10.2:1 cr pistons) and I remember a few people had new cams they were selling. Let me know what you';ve got, and the specs.

Don't waste time on the cam. Spend it on importing decent fuel, and on engine management because your engine is going to ping like a whore.

Don't listen to Jordan. You can VERY much so notice the cam in my car, both with the 2.5 and now with the 2.7. I'd reccomend it to anyone with some motor work done.

Heaven forbid someone have a engine that they can actually drive.

My 2.8L 10.2:1 was barely (and i mean barely) drivable on 92octane. Tuning is an absolute must for anything more then 9.5:1 C/R.

Don't listen to me though, its not like I've been there, done that, and learned from it.

Yea, Jordan is 10 years old and knows nothing about cars. He has never got a stroker, NOR has he got custom pistons with that high of C/R. He doesnt know anything. Dont listen to him............

geez, i didn't accuse anyone of lying, i just made one post looking for a cam!

and mr 325, I think jordan's comment was more in reference to my compression ratio being too high, and the fact that the m20 has no knock sensor, rather than the value of upgrading the camshaft

The guy who did my cylinder head has done 3 heads for me this year, last year did my dads head, and my uncles head and block. My dad's compression ratio on his 240z is in the 11s. he does everything from putting together race bike motors to race dub motors etc. I gave him my pistons when he did my cylinder head and he said it would be straight.

i got an smt6 and yes will have it properly tuned by a competent individual.

so...anyone got a cam for me?

Unless your father has a m20 in his 240z that comment was a moot (and ignorant) point.

it was moot. not necessary to call me ignorant though.

I have a cam for sale.. it's new, 284/284, will require oversized eccentrics (~$50). PM me if you are interested.

btw, a cam in a stock motor works pretty damn well..

                      Re:

W/ 10.2:1 the only way short of spark timing, ACS or the thicker head gasket(about 0.3 of a point reduction) might be a cam. Closing the intake valve later w/ a cam with more duration reduces the cylinder pressure and the chance of detonation.

                      I have a new Schrick 272 if you're interested.
