Hey just a little up date on the progress on my wife's M3. Bought this car little over a year ago, motor was out for cleaning per the PO. His parents house sold faster than they expected and the car had to go, thats when I bought it.
Had the motor put back in (that's another story for another time), that took about 10 months and two days(again, another time ). Thanks ROBERT at E30 MOTOR WERKS!
Well anyways the car had grey interior but for some reason the PO dyed it all black. I didnt really dig the job he did on the panels but the carpet I thought came out pretty decent. So with the carpet now dyed black I decided to go with Cardinal interior in the car. Black carpet with cardinal seats, panels in a black car is pretty sexy I think!
Just recently got it painted and started to tie up many loose ends with the car. Slowly coming together,I'd say about another month and it will be on the road. Wife is SO stoked so I'm happy!:D Car is for her.
Little show and tell on how it's coming along...
Day I bought it. (around Sept/Oct 2011)
Motor out
Towed to 1st shop
Towing it out of 1st shop
10 month later straight to E30 Motor Werks
Towed to One Day Paint in Laguna Niguel,Ca
Body and Paint work
Tried two OEM Stock Radios and the car just wouldnt take them. One wouldnt light up and the second fell off the counter and broke so I gave up. I decided then to go with an after market radio and speakers plus a boom box. Not my thing really but figured with my two daughters in the car with mom the ipod hook up would make them happy.
Radio is all done just waiting for the LED light strip for the OBC to arrive so I can put it all back together.
Can see the Cardinal panels are also in
Strut bar on and still a few loose ends need tied with the engine
Front bumper on
Rear bumper on with red tape and wifes name on the plate :)
Apex arc 8's waiting.
Car is ready to go back to the body shop to buff out the front bumper, mirrors and wing. From there it gets towed straight to E30 Motor Werks for final engine work and back to my shop. Bumper tape and wheels go on and the car is close to being done.
Waiting for the front and rear seats to get re upholstered in Cardinal Leather, put them in and the car should be finished.
Keep ya posted when I get work done and photos.
How it sits right now, done for today.
