I'm cheap, what can I say. So that being said I'm going to attempt to rebuild my nippondenso 10p series compressor. I searched the forum to see if its been done, but I mostly came up with threads of people just saying buy a reman. What's the fun in that? I've converted 3 e30s to R134a and each time it is a seal on the compressor that has failed. So anybody want to see how its done?

My 10P had the clutch burn out, for which there is no repair other than a replacement clutch. I did some research last year and the cheapest clutch replacement I could find was like $75. But the same company could redo the whole thing for $135 plus $20 shipping. So...
Anyway I'd still like to see a rebuild write up!

^ I was going to mention that service bulletin. The Bosch compressors aren't r134a compatible but Denso is okay.. but again 30 year old seals etc
I called them up last year and the guy on the phone said if I supplied the core, the price would be $135 for a new clutch and seal rebuild. He said the $195 internet price reflects them going out to a yard and finding a core to rebuild, and that they were currently out of stock due to it being an older model so it's best to send one in anyway. They're in Texas so figure whatever shipping would be.
