    Idle

    Hello!
I recently bought my first ever E30 and I just wanna clarify something about the engine. Is it normal for an M20B20 to idle like in the beginning of this video https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=phf0...ature=youtu.be
The guy I bought my car from said it had an M20B25 but when I got home I noticed that the code on the block was 206KA (b20). The way it idles seemed weird to me and so I went online to check out some examples and in most videos the idle seems a lot smoother unlike in the video I linked.
So this got me thinking if maybe the engine has been modified in some way. So yeah.. is this idle normal for a stock M20B20 engine?

It sounds like a vacuum leak. Or the valves could be really out of spec.

I'd check valve/rocker arm clearances, because that's just a regular maintenance procedure for these engines, then preform a smoke test, or a ghetto break cleaner test to see if there are any vacuum leaks.
