Apparently Racing Dynamics only involvement was a check for decal sponsorship, so no traction there. Ray has been extremely helpful so far, and I am grateful.

I'll take lots and lots of photos, don't worry.

If it was domestic, wouldn't the vin number be stamped on the firewall? I didn't think the US got any motorsport chassis.

The VIN is on the rain tray, and what I believe is the Motorsport number is next to it.

Since the car wasn't built for USA (according to some info) it would go against the US not getting any Motorsport chassis. We'll see.

That sounds like it was a pretty penny.

I'm very interested in this. Can't wait to see more. Or in the words of ThatOneEuroE30 'This gunna be good.".

What a cool car, I really want to see that suspension.

looking at this picture looks like it has early group A type suspension, before going to custom made trailing arms.

Question is then how early of a group A arm are they?

So long as the suspension is as it came from the factory, it shouldn't be too radical. Should be very similar to the early GRP. A M3's with heavily reinforced trailing arms and possibly dual sheer control arms up front as well as true coilovers in the rear.

                          Edit:
Here are some relevant pages in the 1986 325i Group A Homologation papers. The cage looks similar to the homologized one, but not exactly alike.

All I really want from that is the hollow titanium hubs everything else can be made or bought at reasonable time or expense.
