    Power steering sound when turning

I haven't had a chance to look at this yet but I was told the PS belt is tight. I'm looking for any suggestions before I look into this during the weekend

All 3 accessory belts were very recently changed on this E30. No sounds before the belt change.

    Video of the sound:

    (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GsL9fGNqduI if that doesn't work)

Once the car is turned off I see a bunch of bubbles in the PS reservoir and overflowing. Fluid look a little high from pictures. When the front is jacked up or the vehicle is above 5'ish MPH, the sound doesn't exist when turning the wheels. However, I think under full lock, even when going at speed, the sound is there.

Starting with a bleed doesn't sound right. I thought the bubbles in the PS system would make themselves out naturally. I'm thinking seals or a pump.

    Thoughts?

    Thanks guys!

The power steering system is self bleeding. Jacking the front tires off the ground and turning lock to lock works best for me. Not sure if your pump is sucking air, creating the foaming.

A tight belt might stress a bearing but cannot cause anything internal and as Steve says, the system is self bleeding with just a few turns LTL being all that's necessary.

Assuming your belt guy didn't put PS fluid in there instead of atf and that it drives ok, I'd correct the fluid level first. There are bypasses and vents that may not be functioning correctly if it's over filled.

Turns out the person that installed the belts messed up the teeth on the adjuster bracket really bad and the adjuster nut had a tooth missing too. I bet the bracket wasn't good enough to begin with.

Also, one the of bolts for the PS bracket was loose .....

Once I replaced the brackets, the adjuster nuts and then tightened up the loose bolts, all power steering problems went away.

Oh, and I changed out a generic, kinda loose hose clamp on one of the PS lines at the rack to a better one that doesn't have pressure points and tightened it. It didn't seem too loose but I don't know how a loose adjuster and bolts would cause bubbles/air in the line.

        Thanks for the comments!
