Custom Sport Clutch/Brake Pedal Pads - $17.99 - new with Video

    Dear R3V,

I was unhappy with how my feet always slipped off the stock pedal pads, and worked with a rubber company to create these 100% natural rubber pads, with a sand blasted surface texture. These are plug and play slip-on. The general idea is they are a bit more grippy and supple than stock OEM pads and significantly more so than many cheaper aftermarket pads made of synthetic rubber.

I'm attaching some pix here, and some feedback from R3V members who offered to try out sets and let me know their feedback. Scroll down to read more.

    $17.99 - shipped USA (for pair 2x)

    Description:

Custom moulded sport - clutch brake pedal pad - Pair (2X pieces)
    - Improved traction, grip and looks

    Why?
We got tired of our feet slipping off the stock pedal pads in our E30's and designed an grippier alternative. Permanent aluminum racing pedals exist, but are costly, do not look stock and require drilling holes in your pedals.

    What's wrong with stock pads?
Stock BMW pads are fine for general use, but like everything else are designed for the general driver under a wide range of daily driving scenarios including dirty and snow covered shoes.

    Why is surface area good?
In the summer, or for sport and racing vehicles, the hatch pattern is just giving away contact area. Just like how racing tires & slicks provide the ultimate grip on the track, these provide the maximum surface area to grip the soles of your shoes.

    What are they made of?
Our pads are custom moulded from 100% natural rubber designed to a custom hardness. The contact surface is then mechanically abraded to increase micro surface area. They have both more grip & suppleness than stock pads.

    How are they manufactured?
We worked with an automotive rubber manufacturer who produces pads for many vehicles world wide. They are professionally manufactured.

    What to expect:
Just like the steering wheel & shifter, the pedals are the primary input sources for your driving experience. Get more touch, control and fun with better contact to your inputs.

Installed them last night, definitely an upgrade compared to stock. Immediately noticed that they had more grip than what I’m used to, they inhanced confidence while using the clutch.

Don’t know how much $ you’ll be asking when you list ‘em for sale to the public, but I give them 10/10 I’ll be leaving them on the e30.

                **Cross post from my thread**

These seriously are an amazingly simple and awesome upgrade. I would’ve written this earlier and forgot to do a proper evaluation because it wasn’t until I was heel-toeing earlier today that it dawned on me how great these are.

I want a set for my Datsun too but I think these are too big to fit. Took 2 minutes to install

                  Just got mine installed today.

Initial impressions: Super easy install and the shape looks identical to the stock pads. Notably more grip but it did take me a few minutes to get used to the new feel without the pattern. I wasn't sure i was 100% on board at first but once it rained and I got in my car with wet shoes it make a huge difference. With stock pads and wet shoes your feet slide right off the pedals but with these I felt much more confident. My only complain if any would be the height difference from the center of the pads to the outside, but perhaps this also adds to the grip factor and ill just get used to it. Will update with more thoughts as I continue to use them. Thanks again!

Yes, the slight edging was to provide a little more feel as to where the edge is and minimally prevent slip off. If you were to try them with bare feet, you'd feel it. It's a subtle thing but that was the design rationale.

I wanted to give my review after using these for a while as to give a very accurate review.... I actually had just installed a few months ago new Genuine BMW pedal pads.... but after the first few days they felt like the same plastic feeling old ones..... after installing the new ones provided by the OP, my feet haven’t felt better on the pedals...I usually change between 2 different pairs of shoes a day, and these new pedal pads feel great and have a grippy feel with any shoe or boot! It doesn’t feel like my foots going to slide off the pedals all the time anymore.. I’m gonna see about ordering a set to hold on to for future use since I am so pleased with these!!
