It's just politics. Watch when a republican gets into office they all suddenly play ball.

Actually I'm hoping they bill will slowly be repealed, they are already trying to get the 1099 bill portion of it removed, even some Dems................because they didn't know the provision was in there/or reached that far.

I forgot which judge, but one of the circuit judges I think is allowing the states to take the case to trial over the Constitutionality of forcing an individual to buy a product.

I am too. We need some kind of healthcare reform, but this bill was total shit. The more I look at it and the more I learn about it, the more I realize there were too many concessions made to special interests, too many special clauses added, too much complication, etc. Yes everyone needs healthcare but I don't think this bill is the right way to go about it.

Bottom line is there is no way anything legal and binding should be signed by the leaders of the country until they are knowledgeable of the entirety of the document. Maybe someone should make that a law.

No bill should ever be passed if it hasn't been read by the politician.
This would do a few things. it would force our politicians to vote based on an educated opinion, It would make for much smaller and simpler bills and it would make just about everything we do much simpler.

They need to focus on making care affordable, not skyrocketing taxes while using the same inefficient, broken systems to provide care.

I agree everyone needs healthcare, but this bill did nothing to address the underlying problem. Skyrocketing costs.

Some people are also going to have to learn to sacrifice. Maybe you don't get to go to the mall to go shopping every month, or have 250 cable channels, or eat steak once a week so you can afford insurance.

But then how would anything get done? We've got lobbyists to meet with, golf to play and apathy for our voting public to maintain!

Is anyone interested in reading a book on healthcare reform?

                              I just read this one:

If you're not familiar with Halverson, he's the CEO of the largest private healthcare provider in the US. The Kaiser Foundation is also one of the largest organizations that conduct clinical research.

The book was published pre-Obamacare, basically at the beginning of the debate.

It's only ~130 pages and really simple to read.

It outlines the history and subsequent shortcomings of our current non-system, and explains the source/cause of care cost increases. It also offers real-world solutions written by someone who manages a system that provides quality care to over 10mil patients.

Anyhow, if you want to read a short book on our healthcare system, as well as relevant reforms, I'd be willing to media mail it to one (or a few) of you. It was expensive, and I want to read it again, so of course I'd want it back haha. Anyhow, shoot me a PM if you want to read it.
