WTB: clean late model E30, budget 8-15k

I've been looking for a clean E30 for a little while now with no luck. I've owned an E46 M3 for 7 years and I think it's time to buy a second car to keep the miles down.

I'm ideally looking for an enthusiast owned, no stories, exceptionally well-maintained car. The mileage doesn't matter to me, but mechanical condition does. I'll consider any color except for red and bronzit. The paint should be in acceptable condition, absolutely no rust, and no over-the-top mods to the body or engine. 2-door coupes only, plastic bumpers only, slicktop big plus. All panels must have matching VINs and I highly prefer cars with no paintwork.

Ideally I'm looking for cars on the East coast that I can see in person, but I'll consider cars from anywhere in the country as long as you provide extremely well detailed photos. Keep in mind that enclosed transport will be 1-1.5k from most places.

I'll pay a fair price for the right car. Up to 15k for an exceptional one. Cash in hand.

With that kind of budget I don't see you having to wait very long.

I'd keep an eye on BaT auctions if I were in your shoes.

    Good luck with your search!

^ Really hoping no one takes the sellers advice seriously and turns that fine example into a track car.

Thanks! I've seen some great e30s on BaT recently.

Thanks for the lead. Car is almost too clean to drive. I'd still like to see what the rest of you guys have.

Good luck! I embarked on a similar, nationwide search for approximately 4 months. Nada.

"The good ones" don't seem to be coming up for sale as those are the folks most likely to be attached to their car or waiting to see where the appreciation tide takes their car's value. Condition being king, I just couldn't find one clean enough to warrant the purchase. BaT is definitely a consistent source of interesting E30s.

I could have settled and gotten something, which I ended up doing. Ended up being a very clean S52 M coupe, which I'm quite thrilled with... but I always find myself E30 searching.

Patience is key! I searched everyday for 9+ months and found a gem. The right one will fall into your lap when you least expect it....happened to me.
