    SSK for ix made easy.

I used the z3 1.9 as referenced here for comparison of ix and z3 1.9

using this simple metal bottle cap from a 64oz growler of beer, from (free state brewery) any will do though, Drill out the center of the cap to the edge, and then using the dremel again grind down the lip on the outside of the lip.

then place the now metal ring in the shift carrier and work it down to the bottom.

Then place in shifter, now you have just the right distance so the shifter doesn't bang on the t-case and the plastic cup is still inside the carrier.,

See the nice distance below: As there is just enough space for the linkage to attach:

Ta dah!, Done, No need to bend the linkage or anything else, goes into gear great notchy but smooth.

quite possible but, the metal clip I put in is jammed in there and prevents the bottom of the shifter from pulling up. It works, may be temporary but works.

And Ken yes a 1.9 z3 shifter will hit the transfer case if you just stick it in there, in fact that is what caused all my long problems to begin with. IE shift carrier breaking.
