So, got the FW in. Took a looksy at it:

    "SALLOUM RACING PRODUCTS" "VAC Motorsports.com"

Looks like it's from before VAC was officially VAC.

Measured it, 240mm so we're good.

Porsche tech here concurs, roll a whiz wheel over it, slam it together, and run it. There's no cracks in anything. Clutch is fine for while. I plan on making this thing easy to tear down anyways.

So, possibly tonight, I'll get home and get to bolting things together.

Bam. Forgot I didn't have the damn clutch alignment tool so I just put it on loose so I didn't loose parts. Sucker is light!

Also need to get bolts for the trans as I have none.

FYI, E39 528i pressure plate bolts up too. I've got on in better shape than the 540i one that came with this. Just want to get a new disc and roll.

              Mounts and spacers ordered.

Will begin working on the actual car come Friday if the rain holds off. Doing brakes and shit. This was an auto car, so I've got a bit of swapping to do, but it'll be alrighttttt. Also going to do the whole removable core support dealio.

Just found out that Vintage 2013 and they're running laps at VIR....so deadline will be to have this thing running before then. I'm terrible at meeting deadlines.....so yeah....we'll see.

That's not what lambo told me. He said sometimes you even arrive a little early (ahem).

Well, I'm probably over a year late on getting this finished if you follow my original timeline.

Also a few weeks late on sending my secret santa out....so take that as you may.

Lambo is probably trying to keep me exclusive to him by spreading rumors, but he doesn't need to worry....I'm 100% on his team.

Yeah man, more like Stuarts Draft but my zip is still Waynesboro, lol.

Why re-invent the wheel? Because I'm a cheap motherfucker who would rather labor than spend money.

Anywho, this is my take on running hydroboost brakes:

                        Stock booster out:

Hydrobooster bolts right up to the stock location, but needs to be further over. This is a scrap booster I have laying around, I've got a compete setup still in my second parts car.

Cut and drilled to move it further over, but this presented a problem.

Problem: Strut tower is in the way of bolting the master cylinder on.

                        So, we did this:

Still waffling on whether to mount the booster as far down as I can or just do it at the top, left corner. Going to run a rod from the modified brake pedal to the booster, obviously.

This will plant the master cylinder right at the ABS pump, so some short hoses to connect that up and we're still rolling with ABS.

Thoughts? Everything is totally movable, so I can still trim and adjust as needed when I get the motor mounted in (mounts will be here this week).

Pulled a good gas tank from a friend's parts car yesterday so I'm in business there too. Also got the engine totally bolted up to the trans and ready to slam in when mounts get here.

You underestimate my duct tape. That shit is the old stuff that was actually good, lol.

Anywho, I'm waiting on getting the engine in before going further so I can make sure my clearances are good.

Got a manual pedal bracket too, with pedals, so I'll be working on that this week, maybe.

Looking from the pictures I'd say the engine won't fit in there - the left hand side head / valve cover etc will need more space than there currently is available.

Also PS fluid container needs to be located somewhere (in case you retain PS in the car).

That's what I was thinking. I stopped there because I'm still waiting on my mounts so I can slam the engine in and check my clearances. I'm planning in running a 2002 remote reservoir, so I may wedge the booster as far down as I can and mount the reservoir on the tower.

P/S is a must since I'm going hydro. Luckily all the accessories like that came with my engine. Only thing I'm ditching (for now) is the A/C. I hate A/C work.

It's been raining worse than the UK here lately. Car is outside since dad's restored Oliver 55 is a barn queen, lol.
