You're going to need alot more than the head to make the head actually work.

That's the idea, first I'm trying to demostrate actual interest on reving-up the e30 line, then I can ask about such project.
Can count at least 10 people whom would shell out 2,000+ each for them, $ 25K might get the ball going., too early to say.
Ports on those pics don't look anything like on m20's.
I'll be in LA next week, besides wedding duty I'll be meeting with John Mason, perhaps Federico would like to meet him, as John knows Callaway back in CT., it's a small world my friends.
Here's John discusing x-brace design for my cabrio with a nice e30 guy I met while here.

If the patterns and core boxes for the head casting are still sitting around I have plenty of good contacts in the foundry industry to get us in the door. In fact on of my close friends started a foundry a few years ago (Northeast Ohio) and specializes in custom alloys and has done some reproductions of old Rolls Royce heads as well as a magnesium chevy small block.

The 24v probably is more hassle than it is worth. But I would like one of those valve covers. I need a RD steering wheel and a RD catback would be sweet. For those that don't know, here are pics of my original e30 m20 RD headers with ceramic coating still fresh from the shop that coated them. I haven't installed them as I haven't had the motivation to clean my engine bay. Anyways, here is what they look like out of the bay:
I'm game. Would you mind posting the link to nando's pipes. I wouldn't mind looking at them.
Here are mine. The last four are the important ones, it has the cut angle inside the collector to make the pyramid things. Sure others may make it a little better, but these look so smooth in the bay of an e30.

Hopefully the new production will match what the originals that nando and I posted.
At $600 that is about half of what I spent on mine. Granted the coating was not cheap.
The flange at the pipes to the cat is designed so that it mates to a flared end of pipe and the flanges bolt together with long bolts with springs on them. No gaskets except at the head. I like this concept, I hated getting gaskets for my IE headers.sigpic

My wife just dropped off check at RD this morning, she got to meet 'ol Federico.
She pointed out how neat, organized and clean the shop is., nothing but new BMW's in there.
Maybe too neat and organized to trow anything out like head molds, hehehe, we'll see.
Official count down begins: - 60 days.

How about "X" sections on Long (copy) SS headers and real SS muffler.
One before and one after cats (resonators in my case), thinking of keeping them.
Your thoughts on those ???
