There is another company making a similar product. I believe they were called Sun Automotive. I talked to the sales rep and he was very convincing. In theory, it is a good idea if there is a lot of noise in the system. I can certainly see noise being in the system with added stereos, sensors not in perfect working like-new condition, alternators getting tired, bulbs not perfect, etc.

I don't know what that box does, but I wouldnt trust it.

You can make grounding wires on your own and wouldn't be too hard. All you really neeed to do is connect the wires between the grouding points.
I've done it in other cars (an automatic) and could tell a noticeable difference in smoothness of shifting. Dyno test showed like 2 hp difference, so little that I couldn't feel the power gain - but the shifting was smoother and made the overall driving experience better.

Yup, and your car won't start unless they are all hooked up. Ask me how I know. :D

I don't know if what I'm going to say helps or not:

I helped my friend with a Lexus IS300 install one of these things, he got a set for christmas. Installation was maybe thirty minutes, at first, I was skeptical, but the documentation was extensive and the product eventually started to look serious.

When we took the car for a test drive, it felt like it was brand new! A wonderful improvement to the car's electronics. We noticed a serious change in the idle, now it's much MUCH smooher and there is NO hesitation when you step on the gas, not like there should be, but there's no other way for me to explain what it was like, to touch the gas and see the RPMs already there, its like it had a lightweight flywheel but only from idle.

I'd say if you really wanted to mod your car, and you've already run out of small cheap bolt-ons and are too lazy to advance on to a motor swap or whatever, I guess you could buy this. You won't see me throwin down cash for this thing anytime soon though. (but that's because I'm saving up for something ;) )

I've had experience with the IS300 one too. A guy on IS300.net makes a kit, I believe out of 4gauge wires?

I was extremely skeptical myself until abundance of testimonials led me to throw down few tens of dollars - it defenetely put a smile on my face.

No I didn't. Maybe I should look into it. But I always thought that the difference on manual transmission would be really marginal - though i haven't any experience with grounding kits of manual cars. Maybe 92 mtechnic cab can elaborate.

Yah, and the purpose of the grounding kit is to replace the pinner factory straps, and also add new ones where needed.

Anyone here that is fairly skillfull can make these things and make some money off of it too. All you need to figure out is all the grounding points and figure out the length between the points, weld on some nice terminals on the ends, and you're set.

I thought it was somewhat self-explanatory. Just showing that it has been done on M3. I emailed the guy, I'm waiting on his reply.

If you have no experience with it, it sounds really stupid, I mean the name "hyper grounding ...yada yada", what a crock of shit name! But I ended up buying a set for my last car that was made by an enthusist, and the feeling of the car dramatically improved -smoother shifting, felt like the throttle response was better.

Not somehing that boosts up your HP, something that makes the car feel nicer to drive.

Having said that, I was curious if we could get similar results on these E30s, and I came across that.

I have a grounding kit installed on my car. I have a contact thats getting into the buisness selling and making them. Hes is striving to make ths best kit in the world. His kits use 14k gold terminals. Heat risestant wire (can withstand rediculous temp's). It isnt very difficult to make grounding kits but they will all be shit and wont last long. I made one myself using 4 gauge wire. Used it for 2 months and the wire starting melting. The kit that I have on there now still looks perfect. His kits also have a life time warrenty and there very elaborate. He includes 2 terminals, gold plated eyelits, allen wrenches, zip ties, corrosion cleaner, instruction CD, and everything else needed to have a perfect install. I bouht my kit from him in BMW blue and it looks dope. I could tell a small different in performance. Not so much in power, most of the gains Isaw were much easier reving, less sound from the engine coming through the engine, EVERYTHING electrical has improved, and it also looks damn good. Im a firm beleiver in grounding kits.
