could engine mounts being old, worn, cracked have anything to do with the engine possibly sitting lower? size the mounts up some with washers - wouldnt be hard, just loosen bolts and jack engine up from the MIDDLE of the oil pan, place washers and bolt back down.

Lowerd M42 oil pan is ~ 4.5 to 5inches off the ground. Where as i have not bottomed out, or hit it on anything, i can see that it has been done before, and i understand why.

I submit the oil pan being the lowest point on the car is a severe design flaw.

At stock height it is much too close. When you add to the equation lowering the car it is much too close. Unless of course you can warp physics and cause a car to have no downward motion in it's suspension.

dunno. he won't fess up to anything, even though there's a police report saying he rearended someone (small fender bender). apparently he wrecked the car TWICE. the police said no wheels were bent and no flat tires. i dont really care as long as he pays up.

as soon as the broken parts are fixed, it's getting sold to him.

They are responsible for the car if they have the keys, keys denote control over the vehicle. If they do or say anything other than it will be fixed correctly and sorry tell them you will retain a lawyer, if they then do not say they will fix it and sorry retain the lawyer and give them his number and let them deal with him.

They have 100% liability to return the car to the condition it was in when they took possession of it (or to buy it)

                Sorry man this sucks

How high is your Xbrace from the ground? I'm going to measure my oil pan when I get the car back, which better be today.

Jordan, you know that is irrelevent to this thread as the x-brace sits behind the subframe and the wheels will always lift the car up before the x-brace hits.

I have almost 4 inches of clearence between the ground and the bottom of my oil pan. I have no idea what brand of springs were put on this car, they were there when I bought it and just have a part number on them. I installed some new struts/shocks cause the old ones were shot but I think I may change these springs out too.

heres the pictures, the flash screwd up the view of the tape, but its about 3.3-3.5 inches of clearance and its about 1/4-.5 inch below the pan.

Where does it bolt in front? It is mounting to the rack in back right?

                          Thanks For the picture.

Thanks for taking the pics. My car has an M50 in it and that will skid plate will fit it fine. I need to climb my car now and look to see where you're bolting it to. I need to find some cardboard too and make a template.
