    Skid plate option

Has anyone tried the factory 3 plate? It's mighty cheap, 40 bucks. It's gotta be worth a try for that price.

I would not consider 1/16" aluminum to be sufficient.

also, putting the diamond surface down is a bad idea. it can snag shit.

just bite the bullet and get the factory piece. it will take hitting a brick at 60mph laying in the freeway. it literally lifted my car as i went over it.

The 666 fab plate requires drilling too.

Like others in this thread have said 1/16'' aluminum is not going to protect you from any impact. They might as well have made it out of cardboard. You could probably lay on your back and kick that piece in.

Also the point about the diamonds down catching on things. Where do you drive?

Diamond plate does not have real sharp corners and even if it did what is it going to catch on while you drive down the road?

and it was worth every overcharged cent! I haven't hit a brick yet, but i can certainly attest to it being stout.
