    Party like its 2002....tii

Well, picked this up from karlspackler today. Its exactly what i expected it would be when i got to his house. (i hadnt seen it before picking it up) Well, got it home and start to do work ;)

    Before....

And thanks to Sixgun (Dave) for lending a hand on the detail day, i used some good knowledge that he gave me and went to work!

Really wish i did a true before and after, the left side was worse than this before, but i took some detail spray and a towel with some elbow grease to get it as good as it is in the picture. That was also after a quick clay barring.

    and done.

whole car came cleaner than i expected!

also did a quick shot with both BMW's together!

Only bad spot on this whole car was on the passenger door, had some surface rust so i sanded it down and primed the spot for now.

This thing also came with a front airdam as you can see in the original pictures, however upon getting it off the trailer i cracked the fiberglass
Oh well, im looking at getting a full poly piece from Ireland Engineering anyways :D

Not looking forward to the engine bay next :leave:

Some cool facts about this particular Tii, it use to be raced by a local at the AutoX's. Also noticed this car has been resprayed (over spray on the front springs), Also when tieing it down on the trailer i noticed some poly sway bar bushings! (sweet!)

Good find, that looks like a very solid starting point.

That's actually the color mine came in from the factory (was resprayed vienna red when I got it), love the look.

Pretty cool, Tii's are great cars. Yours still has the original nose panel which is nice.

It's a little heavy on the monochrome treatment, have you thought about painting the wheels a different color?

agreed, the green wheels with have to go, i think i'll be putting some 16's on this eventually, so the green wheels will stay on for now.

Shoot the wheels matte silver or anthracite in the meantime, it doesnt have to be perfect. Welcome to the wonderful world of 2002's!

Well did some hammering away at this thing today, did get a few things done cosmetically that i wanted. So here it is.

                        Front and rear bumper delete.

and cut some springs!!! (first time in my life!) about 3 inches

Couple things i noticed while under this car. There is only one spot of rust on this car and its on a removable panel that hides the floor mounted pedal assemblies (wierd?)

Second thing i noticed was braided stainless steel brake lines, and judging by the struts and springs, im guessing they aren't stock either (hard to tell on as they have been painted)

Did some more work. Putting everything back together.

fuel tank was unbolted and sitting there, i did some quick sanding, prime, and high temp paint on it.

put some of this stuff back together

                            and its current sweet stance...lol

I did throw some gas in the tank and a battery. Electrical inside seems all good. however im not getting any fuel. so im guessing the pump shit out on it. Wish now i didnt sell my walbro 255 6 months back. Oh well, thats the luck though lol.
