What were the terms of the deposit? I've always thought a deposit meant either "I want the car 100% and I'll pay the balance when I pick it up" or "I really really want the car, not 100% sure, but I cant look at it until next week, so here's $XXX to hold it for me until I can see it."

So I guess I'm missing why a deposit would be returned if it was the buyer that blew up the deal. But I'm probably missing something obvious.

i was to be in hollywood, and asked him how far he was from there.. he said about 45 minutes.

when i got down, and made the plan to get out there to see the car, i asked for his address, and mapped it from hollywood.
it was 75 MILES each way....

i told him it was too far to manage it, and that it just wasnt going to work out.

LA traffic is a bitch, as it is... 75 miles each way could end up being a whole day, and as it was my daughter's bday, i just couldnt make it happen.
i figured he'd be understanding.

it was only one week that he'd held the car as "sale pending", key word being PENDING.

pending inspection... the seller's statement about the distance being inaccurate was a huge factor in the inspection being impossible.

i told you a hour or so..text shows that like i said you got my address and that suppose to mean something then do it !! if its pending inspection then come get the car inspected everything is good on the car! i got the car inspected when you first put a "good faith" deposit JUST FOR YOU i know everything was good for you i even offerd YOU to pick you up from the air port.!

I know you must think this is wicked funny or something. But step back and be an adult, you stole from this family man. He put a deposit down to hold it, could not come through and offered you 200 for your troubles. There is 100% NO REASON for him to do that. Common sense is that he is not buying it and the deposit goes back into his account.

If you spent it and cannot repay that is even more dumb of you. Example of how this works.

My brother placed a deposit down on a 2010 Triumph Daytona 675R. Placed 500 down to hold it, but some paper work was at fault and he did not want to wait 2 weeks for another bike. Withdrew his place on the bike and his deposit was refunded that very afternoon by the dealer.
