Thought i'd share a few pics of the airlift/E-Level install.

    Puzzle pieces:

Wanted to be able to have full function of the boot space, as in still have access to the spare tire and complete access to the two storage compartments. This is the mock up using MDF panels I cut:

    Rears installed:

Tank and fittings all done behind the rear seats and out of sight (Water trap is upside down in the pic, but has been fixed since lol)

I extended the VU4 loom to allow me to install the E-Level ECU in the Battery compartment, still need to tidy it all up though:

Finished result with base panels all trimmed and lines run:

Another thing, I wanted to be able to cover it all up and make it completey out of sight, yet still functional. The police are ruthless here in Australia when it comes to modified cars and airbag suspension is not exactly 'legal'... This is for when i'm just cruising, just incase i get pulled over. Hopefully they won't look twice and just think its a speaker box or just part of the car lol

Two computer fans to extract heat from the compressors.

    Stealth mode:

With the cover pulled out, had to drill some air holes to allow for heat extraction.

    Klingon Warbird stealth mode:

As you can see, full function still there:

Removable panel for spare tire access:

Started playing around with mounting solutions for the height sensors. I'm still waiting to get the front hubs/bags back from the welder, doing this while I wait. The sensors are the last thing to do now. Will have to wait until i have the whole setup working befor I mount the sensors themselves. But should be fine, a couple of rivnuts into the wheel wells should do the trick.

Rear, a piece of alloy angle bracket, two small holes in the rear arms to mount.

Front. Small piece of angle bracket with a big ass washer fixed through the front lower control arms. No drilling needed.

            haha thanks mate :)

Yeah I left this thread sit idle and didn't update it for about 1.5years while the engine build was getting done (Took absolutely forever) A LOT longer than expected.

Anyway, I have now had the car back for about 3 months or so and have gotten keen to update the thread more regularly, now that I have been messing with the car again.

            Still plenty more to come.

Running bags in Australia is risky, non the less it seems as if it's coming along really well.

Yeah very true. I think the key is to be disciplined and drive around at legal height, save the aired out fun for car meets/shows etc

haha Fuse box is under the glove box, all wires for font end (headlights etc) run through the fender. The cabling that originally ran along the firewall has been cut and extended to run them inside the cabin under the dashboard. All cables for the motor run through the old fuse box firewall peno, then slip up under the brake booster and under the ITB manifold.

That is some great work on the wire tuck. Someday when my e30 isn't my daily anymore Id like to take that on as a project.

                            Thanks mate :)

Well in Australia, almost all car modifications are classed as 'illegal' unless they have been signed off by a registered engineer (which can be costly) but worth it, if you're serious. But not all modifications can be engineered. Also a big grey area in the system, since all police can hand out defect notices (fines etc for 'illegal modifications) but only some police actually have a clue about cars. Which means people get defected for some things un-fairly and the other way round. It is not a good system down here.

Things like airbags can be engineered to make them legal, but ONLY if the airbag system doesn't allow for adjustments while in motion and also doesn't allow for the car to be driven lower than 100mm clearance (at lowest point) so if your exhaust hangs lower than 100mm clearance to the road, then it is illegal... Shits rough down here.

It doesn't stop people from doing it though, in reality there is still only a small chance of actually getting caught. Just means all these expensive mods can be undone by the cops pretty quickly if you're unlucky enough to get pulled over and inspected :(

Getting ready to have the car re-tuned using a Haltech system soon. Too hopefully get a better result. Will be using a cam sensor setup to help with tuning this time.

Currently the car runs ok on WOT but anything else and it runs like a bucket of shit...

Anyway, I got this cam sensor kit from Pure Performance Factory in Sweden as well as a Honeywell GT1 hall effect sensor. Hopefully should help improve things.

Got a hold of an old center console that originally had the 6x cassette tape holder. Removed that and used the space to make a padded section for the elevel control/Varex volume control units. Pretty happy with the result.

Also, car is currently sitting aired out on ramps. I have fired up the system but there are a couple of very decent airleaks... Resealed them yesterday, but i'm going to wait a few days for the sealant to dry and hopefully that should do the trick.
