This is why you don't just clean up parts...
So, this is why you don't just clean up the exterior of some parts. The inside guts really count.
This is the heater valve.
First picture, the exterior, second is the exterior cleaned up which looks ok. Then we decide to drill out the rivets and check the guts since is appeared to be leaking slightly. The thought was to replace the o-ring inside and replace the rivets with screws and washers. Looks like we are going with a new unit. Has anyone had experience with servicing the heater valve vs replacing. Just curious.
The last picture is of more parts that arrived. New thermostat housing, cover, related o-ring & screws and temp sensor. All BMW parts with exception of temp sensor being Bosch.
