    Check that subframe...

    Was discussed million times but here is more proof......100% stock car. Cracks developing at both L/R saway bar rear mounting tabs(L side crack is much smaller). Other usual suspects (motor mount tabs etc) look ok. Washed the subframe in a prep to put the motor back in....another setback.

      car has only 160k.....as been said before, these cars needs a lot of money put into basic stuff (suspension, brakes etc) before any "cool" mods. I have fresh M20 2.9 ready to be dropped into her with manual tranny conversion and z3 steering rack. Besides all the usual maintenance items (shocks, bushings, wheel bearings etc), I need new brake master (was leaking into the booster very slightly) and now the subframe. I haven't gotten to the rear subframe yet...hopefully not too many surprises there.
