After doing my valve adjustment, whenever my car starts, it dies if the gas pedal is not applied. However, when the gas is pressed it will stay alive. Any thoughts? (1986 325es)

if said problem did not exist before doing adjustment and stared immediately after, then trace back every step and make sure you didnt make a mistake or forget to reattach / reassemble something

Check carefully the connections for airflow, and the electrical connection for the idle air motor.
