    This is going to get a few of you in a tizzy....

    A new survey shows that Atheists and Agnostics are more knowledgeable about religion than most practitioners. Close behind in the survey were Jews and Mormons.

    "The Pew Forum on Religious Religion and Public Life released a survey on religious knowledge today. Atheists and Agnostics scored higher on it than anyone else, closely followed by Jews and Mormons, all Christians, Protestants and Catholics, were far behind."

      I read this yesterday, thought it was pretty funny that people know more about other religions than their own.

            Its because everybody likes a game called stump the chump. Its easier to believe than not believe. You gotta put in some work to not believe that way you can try to cite facts to tell all the believers that they are wrong. In the end though no one can answer where space came from and the big bang is merely a theory. Suck on that geniuses

              I admit I know little about Islam, Hinduism, Budhism, etc. I have never studied those faiths.

                  I am Catholic and I think I legitimately know more about Islam and Judaism than the teachings of Cathol.

                    So true. 6 years of Christian school and I figure out how bad it was, didn't help those running the church were making money on the deal.

                      Well just think, they are involved with their religion so they will not now as many positive things about other religions except for the so called "negatives" they learn in church. Makes sense.

                        No, of course, a magical thing wished us into existence several thousand years ago. That makes a lot more sense.

                            Good point. I feel that atheists tend to be more defensive and fact oriented though, where as those people in religion are generally oriented around their religion and why it's right. Unlike atheists who must quantify why everything else is wrong in order for them to be right.

                            Atheists = everyone else must be wrong

                            Religion = only I'm right
