Hello,
I've had my '88 iX since Jan of '04. I was planning on keeping it since it was my first BMW, unfortunately I don't have the time or space for it now. I'd love to see it go to someone who enjoys these rare AWD E30s, that's why I'm listing it here first. Here are some details:
1988 325iX coupe, 5-spd with 214,474 miles
MILEAGE HISTORY:
To further explain the mileage history of this iX is as follows… I bought the iX from my uncle who bought it as a winter car. He only owned it for about 3 months and decide he wanted to check out a '88 e30 M3 as a summer car. He picked me up in Pittsburgh, PA and we drove to D.C. to look at the M3 and he bought it, so I drove the iX back to his house in Ohio. I had a blast driving the iX and suggested he should sell it to me since he just bought the M3. He said he wanted to keep the iX as a winter car, and he would think about the offer overnight. He thought about it over night and decided to sell the iX to me the next day. So long story short, I bought the iX and have owned and loved it since. The previous owner before my uncle wanted to add the metal gauge rings to the instrument cluster. While he was removing the original instrument cluster he broke something on it. He bought a new/used instrument cluster and that is why the Carfax report states the mileage is under suspicion or unknown. The VIN number for the iX is WBAAB930XJ2550257. Feel free to run a Carfax report. My uncle took this gentleman's word, as I took my uncle's word on this story. My uncle kept and gave me the original Carfax report that was ran on 07.05.01, which states:
On 05.26.99 the odometer reading was reported as: 169,000 miles
On 09.24.99 the odometer reading was reported as: 72,419 miles
The original instrument cluster was sold to my Uncle with the iX as proof of the mileage when it was pulled. The original instrument cluster read 174,494 miles. If you add the miles added to the new instrument cluster, (today 112,399 – 72,419 = 39,980), to the old instrument cluster the odometer would read 214,474 miles (174,494 + 39,980 = 214,474).
ADDITIONAL FEATURES:
Salmon silver exterior w/ gray leather M3 interior
Bilstein sport shocks w/ H&R springs
Turner Motorsport Aluminum rear shock tower mounts
BavAuto 2.5L chip
BavAuto short shift kit
BavAuto plush floor mats
Pioneer CD player and speakers
Bull Dog Security keyless entry
The original owner purchased it with all options including: MTech sports steering wheel and map reading lights.
It has been well maintained by myself and the previous owners. I have records and receipts dating back to Jan of '97. The timing belt was replaced around 190,411 miles along with the fuel injectors by my uncle who sold me the car. Since then I've replaced the exhaust, plugs, distributor cap, rotor, ignition wires, o2 sensor, valve cover gasket w/ valve adjustment, front wheel bearings, right front lower control arm with bushing, front & rear rotors with pads, tie rod, and battery. All the fluids have been replaced at the proper intervals.
The car runs great. The paint is in good condition, but it has some rust on the rear valance, right front quarter panel, and right door, as it has spent time in the snow with salty roads.
I'm asking $3,500.00, now asking $3,000.00
Feel free to add to the thread or PM me.
Thanks, Eric
