    No.

Go buy a coupe. Sedan even...but if you want bass in a cabby,

    No.

Between engineering, design, building and cutting those holes, I have about 20 hours in so far, and have not heard it yet.

Your ever lovin' subwoofer building fool,

What the heck is all of that empty space between the bulkheads supposed to be for?

It is just structural bracing, the space is no-intentional.

So, yeah. I have been rocking some tech N9ne for the last hour on the thing.

Keep in mind, the system is currently a 4 channel Exile amp running a single 12" Exile Shift woofer...about 250WRMS to the bass, in a 2 cubic foot bandpass box (4th order)

The thing just fucking rocks. Not a whole lot of trunk space left, but it still sounds awesome with the seat in.

As a treat, a friend of mine helped me do the install:
She actually did run the main power wire

looks good from all angles, too

        ALL angles:

            Aren't you married? :)

Looks interesting. You need to get a jig saw or something though for cutting those holes. Tin snips = teh suck.

that is a whole lot of work and good on ya!

i have to stuff an ice hockey bag in my trunk so it would be nice to see how much space is left when thats in there. are you going to port and modify the seat back? or is this a no back seat cabby?

No, currently the back seat is 100% intact, and the damn thing hits pretty damned adequate. I might pull some of the foam out of the seat, but I dunno...this thing is sounding pretty damn good. Nearly good enough to want to build more of these damn evil things!

Cutting those holes is an intense pain in the ass, let me tell you. I really do not think it is possible, considering all the angles involved, to cut the seatback holes to adequately match the trunk holes without doing it by hand, tin snips and all.

"Snap-On" Aviation snips, BTW. No cheap shit from Sears in my toolbox, thank you.

I used an "Airsaw" in the trunk to cut those holes. I went through $20 worth of blades (Snap-On again, the only ones I can find worth a shit) in cutting those 2 holes...and I am an absolute master at cutting shit like that, as I am sure you can imagine...and those (the easy part) STILL tried to kick my ass.

I have a couple more pics I can upload later.

Cutting the holes in the cabin, with no way of measuring where the hole is supposed to be, plus at an angle, plus contoured metal, plus THICK metal (both trunk and seatback are much heavier gauge than normal BMW sheetmetal) means PAIN IN THE BUTT!

What I did is inserted a tube through the holes I cut in the trunk, guessed where the hole was in the seatback, drilled a hole and started cutting metal until I had the smallest holes that would allow the port tube to come though...keeping in mind that the port tubes need to fit into the box precisely...so cutting the holes is a MAJOR pain in the butt...if I have not made that point clear.

Who is the friend? Does OSHA allow employees to work in bikini tops these days? I've been outta work too long.

Somewhat on-topic - where did you put the power cable through the firewall? Stupid front-mount battery...

Getting ready to start my stereo install this weekend. I have a JVC Arsenal HD head unit with the iPod controller and bluetooth phone modules. With a bit of foam and some tape, I finally found a use for that weird little grille on the HVAC panel - phone mic! Gonna get the amp, head unit and speakers installed this weekend, then try to figure out how to work the sub.

Girls in bikinis installing stereos...definitely FTW.

So how long was it after I left did she show up? Or were you hiding her in the bathroom??? So great to watch a pro at work such as yourself. Learned a few tricks which made the cockpit controlled aux fan switch so much easier.
what you did to this car is like getting a supermodel naked and willing to do anything you please. now here you are faced with ths once in a lifetime opportunity and then you squander it by making her fuck you in the butt with a 24" strap on. you are a sad, silly little boy.
