Nina (Simone) got a fat lip... and then a headache

I rushed back from the US to go get the tires that I picked up mounted onto the new wheels.

The refinishing cost a small ransom but the end result was jaw dropping.

Silver centers with machined face and lips. The centercaps were painted and machined to match.

I installed the driver side first to see how much I need to lower the car.

Can anyone say massive wheel gap!

I measured about 1.5" front and 0.5" in the rear.

So I proceed to do the passenger side rear and adjust the rear spring perch when I see this.

I've never seen a broken spring before.

Now I'm bummed out, so I dismount the new shoes and put the old ones back on until I find new rear springs, or a spring, that I can use.

    Here they lay in waiting...

i think you might have to run a little taller tires to help fill that gap. car already seems low

I was rushing to get the ride height dialed in while I still had daylight for you and then I saw the spring. :(

I'm glad I got the skidplate as she's going to be mighty low when this is all done.

I'm running the suggested 215/40/16 tires that a lot of others are using.

This is what it looks like with a taller tire. 225/45/16 on my current wheels.

What's the tire size? They look pretty small to me.. Which is probably why you see so much fender gap.
EDIT: You just posted it above, 2 secs before I hit post.

should of went with a 205/45 or a 215/45. the 40 width sidewall is just too thin on an e30 without going retarded low...

either way, the new wheels are dope

No hate because they arn't those nasty wheels I've despised, and begged you to get rid of for so long. These look great. I could start hating them for you if you'd like. ;)
