yup, been there. mine broke off a boss near the oil pump, so it was squirting out oil into the lower case and not building enough pressure. While the M42 is a great little motor, the timing cases seem to break.. often

I think I need a new engine now...doesn't seem logical to replace this unless I rebuild the entire motor.
Right?
depends...is there any more visible damage?
if you want to rebuild it...i've got a spare short block that has some timing case damage but *only* from the chain eating the guides and i have a completely bare block with 140k on it.

sidenote, lemme know when you send the tool back.
Hey I'll send the tool out asap Denis.
I don't see any more visible damage, but I am assuming the valves are bent. Doesn't make sense to replace just the valves if the whole motor has damage from them. This is what I get for buying a $1000 car.
Looks like what happened to the first m42 I ever tore down. I can almost guarantee that you have some severely bent valves and the thrust bearing on the crankshaft is toast.
what you did to this car is like getting a supermodel naked and willing to do anything you please. now here you are faced with ths once in a lifetime opportunity and then you squander it by making her fuck you in the butt with a 24" strap on. you are a sad, silly little boy.
fairly straight forward. there are some minor differences tho. harness is different so that will need to be changed. Intake setup is different as well.
Turbo M42 Build Thread :Here Ig:ryno_pzk I like the tuna here.
