So were trying to bolt up the tranny and it will not scoot up to where it should. Pull the tranny off, look inside and there scratches from where the clutch was stopping it from moving. They sent me a clutch for a 325.... so. m42 turbo just turned into m42 turbo getrag 260. SHIT JUST GOT REAL!!

Clutch slave cylinder is the same on both the g240 and g260, right? can someone verify this?

I know the clutch slave for an early 318i with early g240 is the same as an e28 528e (m20b27 with g260). So most likely they are the same for late g240. However...you could always go to realoem.com and check part numbers for both vehicles

                  Thanks!

Bolted up to the g260. The four big bolts lined right up but the smaller bolts on the bottom part of the tranny didnt. had to drill holes. ill get pictures when i can.

Next is getting meaasurments on how much i need to chop off the driveshaft

I'm glad someone realizes there is not correct bolt-in D/S for the m42/G260. I have about 10 various D/S's at the shop and none of them fit when my friend's g240 asploded. All over the 'net people said use the 325i shaft, but the splines engaged about 1/4"...

                    Looks like a promising build.
