i went to costa rica last summer and now im hooked on black beans (or red/pinto/garbanzo) and rice as the backbone of most meals. fits my broke college kid budget, can taste amazing, and goes with anything!

We do almost everything from scratch at our house which is kinda how I ended up with an e30.
There is a great local community where I live, we can go buy a hothouse tomato that was grown organically from this crazy fucker down the road any time of year . My wife made a pound cake the other day with eggs that were still warm from the chickens. At Easter we cured our own locally grown ham then smoked it with charcoal we made ourselves and hickory saplings. You can't buy shit that tastes this good at any price.

When i went vegetarian for a few months, I ate this several times a week.

            Black beans + rice + salsa/sour cream/anything

            Super delicious.

i eat fast food most weekday for lunch (i can work it off at the gym).

for dinner it is always home made something and every meal for the most part on the weekends.

i also make my own dry rub (insert joke here) and mustard BBQ sauce that my friends are always hitting me up for.

tonight it is grilled poached salmon with grilled yellow squash w/ fresh ground pepper/sea salt and balsalmic vinegar.

for cook books, i have a few, but most of the time i use allrecipes.com http://allrecipes.com/
or google the main ingredients and go from there.

Tonight is lemon garlic roasted chicken, sauteed kale with mushrooms, and sauteed english zucchini. That's usually how I cook. God I love kale

I still go for varieties vegetable salads. They are fresh and healthy like cucumber salad, lettuce with tomato salad, and etc.
