Why do I have a brown wire at my brake sensor??

Somehow there is a brown wire at my front left brake sensor. What is it for or where does it connect to?
I peel back the tape and the harness has 3 wires (2) blacks for the sensor and a third brown that is not splice.

My 84 318i has a brown wire that goes to a lug on the backing plate near the strut housing. You have a vented rotor so it's not an M10 car so it may not be the right sensor.

I zip tie them to the strut anyway just to keep the light off
