    clean and wet

Idles perfect. It has been a great engine. NO issues in 6-ish years. Rev-limiter tested. Water-pump started spraying. Time for the timing belt anyways. Decided to go diesel while I have another vert to drive.

I'd say the 524TD, just because I'd like to see what can be done with one

Need more info to make the correct choice.

            1) fuel mileage

            2)Horsepower and torque

            3) Transmission options or lack thereof.

            Thank You.
            Lorin

God, the m20 has to be one of the worst cosmetically wearing engines.

do the om602 turbo, with the w201 2.6 5-speed (if you can find one) and an S2.93. i'm sure it'd be fun.

also, get the mechanical pump built up, an external wastegate, and a big exhaust, then crank the boost and watch your EGT gauge. torrrrrrque.

The E30 came with the 524TD's engine in europe. Its been done many times. I think the 260 will bolt right up.

Next winter im seriously considering assembling a beater E30 eith the M21 turbo Diesel. 40 MPG Diesel goodness.

524td ftw!! There was one for sale localy a while back. You should do that for sure!! I'm pretty sure they did sell 324td's in Europe as well. You could upgrade the Turk to a holset and call it a day!

i think its just because its almost all metal and most M20s leak a bit so when they leak the oil gets burned on, also cosmolean that dealer ship used doesn't help the situation. if you just wash the motor with pressure washer and/or degreaser they clean up alright
