    Cabrio Painted Hardtop Thread

I've been collecting pics of verts with painted hardtops to help me decide whether or not to paint mine. Hopefully others will add pics and information about their projects.

good idea. I've had thoughts about doing mine as well. have you read or heard of any issues with the paint cracking. Any thing in general like that from the hardtop flexing.

Intersting. Never seen hard tops painted before. Looks sorta cool.

I think I would want mine in black like BMW offered but of course that's personal preference.

I was also thinking about doing this, but, after I peel off the fabric, there's no going back right? ( I guess you could have a shop replace the vinyl but I bet it's expensive)

68lbs exactly. I found that out when shipping.

I've thought about painting mine. The fabric is starting to separate slightly on the c pillar. I saw a great red top with the rails painted black. Very sharp.

This is a cool thread! I would love to get a hardtop and paint it but I hardly ever put my top up anyway.

I think paint is the way to go. Obviously on black you can get away but those red and white e30s with matching color tops is baller!

I don't know why, but I like the way the rag top looks over the hard top. The hard top would be great for winter time tho!
