    drift e302 project

Hey guys, I'm Mat and I'm an aussie drifter.

I've recently purchased a 1985 bmw e30 3.2.5 e for the purpose of drifting it.

In Western Australia the drift seen consists of nothing but Nissans. I decided to change that by drifting my heavy ford ute for the last 2 years. I have entered 2 state battles and qualified top 5 and placed top 8 over all on both attempts =)

Here is my favourite video =)

song is: Judgement by Half Moon Runhttps://itunes.apple.com/au/album/judgement/id661974609?i=661974616first time on a new track on a Collie drift day. hittin...

here is the ute project pics, vids and running gear specs: http://www.xfalcon.com/forums/index....ild-302-build/

In summary the engine was built from the block up by me, makes 331rwhp and revs to 8g. The motor has had no issues over the last 3 years of being abused.

I do love this ute and it's great to stick it to the ricers but it's time for a change but ofcourse I didn't want to be a sheep and follow everyone else with the nissan chassis so i went Euro spec!

I've always had a soft spot for the e30, I had it stuck in my head that they would cost a fortune to purchase and run. Turns out this is not the case so I picked one up for $1,300! and being a bmw everything works almost 30yrs later! Added bonus is that my ford running gear is somewhat of a common conversion and that's where all my money, blood, sweat and tears is.

Here is the tear down of the bmw, what an ease this thing was to pull apart!

The engine mounts I made thanks to e30v8 for supplying the blueprints! (just tacked together)

Apart from that I have now fully stripped the old ute of parts. Next on the list is to mod the oil pan and do an engine clean up. Once that is done I'll be dropping it in =)

Here it is with the mock up engine in. fairly roomy but the exhaust will be interesting. I'm dedicated to run twin pipes and haven't seen it before on this conversion.

Interested to see how you tackle the exhaust.

Cheers guys, the idea is to aim the extractors forward (like most people do) but have each side run under the crossmember and steering rack. and yes this does mean my exhaust will be lower than my front bumper but I'm not going stupid low and the lowest point is inline with the front wheels so this should help.

Had a very productive weekend. Ticked off 2 major things on the list. That is weld the diff and put in the coilovers. Heres the pics.

I don't think this will be breaking anytime soon...

Nice. It should be pretty damn easy to toss around with the aluminium heads.

few more photos of the new booster in (went to a single booster) and had to slot the holes even more to get the booster away from the rocker covers.

only about 10mm gap there now haha! Tight fit!

now i just need to find a master cylinder that doesn't intude towrads the exhaust.

borrowed some rota's of a mate to test fit (even though i couldn't actually lower the car on them as only one stud was in).

                            their 17 x 9 et 25.
