    Serpentine Conversion

We lost our fan belt at our last race. Overheated, warped the head. We haven't looked at the lower end yet... Was thinking about a serpentine conversion to increase durability. Anyone do this before?

ask yourself this.. how many E30s are out there racing with V-belts and how often does a catastrophic failure happen? then figure out the level of effort for a conversion.

We race twice a year. We spent most of our track time swapping heads last race. After driving 7 hours each way. Costs; RV, fuel, food, entry, etc. When we are at the track we want to be running not wrenching.

Ask yourself this... If I wanted your opinion on how I should decide to do the conversion or not. Or if I asked if anyone had done a conversion before.

      Thanks. You're quite helpful.

you asked for opinions with this post. I gave mine. next time don't bother posting if you don't want answers you don't like.

also, don't post the same thread in multiple forums.
