R3v's Day Off: Cars & Coffee + Morning Drive Aug 9th [UPDATED schedule w/ locations]

Hey all,
I'll be leaving for another cross country trip to New York on August 10th. So, the day before, I'm blocking the entire day off to go to cars and coffee and drive some great roads around socal.

It would be awesome to do it with some other R3ver's, especially if we can roll deep at cars and coffee!

Tentative plan August 9th:



Meet at the nearby shell station (see pic for address) around 5:45 am to caravan over to cars and coffee irvine (blue square) at 6am before too many cars show up.
Hang out at cars and coffee until about 8:30
Then head out to whatever great roads we can think of!
Tentative: carbon canyon and angeles crest hwy
Some potentials: turnbull canyon, angeles crest, mulholland, some malibu roads, carbon canyon, maybe ortega and any offshoots?

Anyone is welcome to come and go as they please as we go driving we'll figure out start/end points as the date gets closer so we can regroup before/after running canyons.

Then the official end will be at Castro's as I drop off my E30 to get 5speed swapped. we can also take some photos there if there's still a group (I'll need a lift back to OC after haha!)

It would be awesome to meet some of you fools and do some cruising.

I'll be updating this thread as the plans become more clear.

It's too short of a drive to bother you all to come down this way.

I always thought C&C was on Sundays? I'd love to attend.

C&C Irvine is Saturdays. Maybe you were thinking of Supercar Sunday in Woodland Hills?


C&C Irvine is also far. Sounds like a lot of freeway driving. Just my 2¢

We can make it one stop of multiple? Either way it'll be a bit of freeway driving just because the good driving roads are scattered kinda far!

There is generally a crowd that is down for anything and everything

Me and Simon hit a notable canyon in North-OC that we could consider. Quite a ways from Irvine, but you won't find much down there unless you want to hit the 174 around Laguna (even then, that canyon is always packed; don't think there will be room for contained shenanigans)

The top of Hwy 39 is a twisty road to nowhere. It ends at a really scenic lot and on a good day, you can see all of LA. 5000 ft up.
