Differences in rear plate fillers w/ part numbers

Nice link I found on DTM with pictures and part numbers, showing the differences in E30 rear plate area fillers.

so basicly there is no drilling needed for a pree 88 car that wants the euro filler. 8)

Nope you should call that one a US filler plate as it was made for US market. The EU spec requires minor drilling.

Was there a special plate filler for cars with the Bavaria radio option in europe? My car says Bavaria on teh red plastic plate filler in between the tailights and the only thing I coul dfind connected to Bavaria is the stereo that came in the car. Unless thi swas jsut another option.

and the EU ones are the harder of the two, to find for pree 88 cars.

bavaria is a "state" in germany. as a matter of fact, it is the "state" BMWs are made in.
germans love to put ghey bavaria, and other crap like that emblems on the backs of thier cars. the bavaria logo on the filler is just one of those GERMAN things, doesnt have to do with anything, actually i would say that its aftermarket, cause ive never seen one that says anything on it over here

Maybe his account expired after 3 years.

So putting "Bavaria" on their cars is what they do instead of putting So Cal on their trucks here.

you can still get this part for pre-88 e30s from BavAuto. Both euro and us spec(saw it in a recent magazine.) I believe the US spec is about 35$

                          Early model plate filler:

                          51-13-1-888-463 Euro

                          Late Model plate fillers:

                          51-13-1-961-241 Euro
                          51-13-1-961-242 US

You can still get these from the dealership, pelican, and a bunch of other places. Will take a picture of my US spec one when i have a chance. Im kinda disappointed with it TBH though, it didnt have the fitment i thought it would.

I saw a red US filler for facelift cars that looked like reflective taillight plastic. Couldn't get through traffic to see well enough. I have the regular black plastic US filler
