    e30 Front Fender differences?

I just wanted to make sure, before I went ahead and bought something.

Is there any differences in the front fenders from say a early model 325e to a late model 325i?

Im assuming theres not, but I wanted to make sure.

Obviously m3 ones are different. Im concerned about 318i, 325, 325i and the different years.

    Thanks

AFAIK the ones that are different are cabrio and M3 fenders, all others are the same.

there's a definite difference between early and late model fenders
not sure on the year cutoff, but I am 100% positive that there was indeed a difference

According to the ETK you're wrong, there is no difference in the part number between the fender on an '84 325e and an '89 325is. Both are 41351979483 for the left and 41351979484 for the right.

that's what I found as well, but when I fitted an 84 fender onto my 89 is (yes it was that combo) it did not fit. I checked the ETK many times before and after. I had to modify the early fender to fit the late car, evn then it wasn't a perfect match

Where did it not fit at? I'm curious too because my car needs a fender and I had checked on all this before and thought I'd be safe based on the part numbers. It makes sense they would be the same since you can retrofit a plastic bumper onto any year car just with changing the valance.

it didn't fit to the body of the car, I had to do lots of metal-getting-rid-of

since that is a word and all. and it makes sense

I just made the mistake of buying '87 vert fenders for my '89 is. The one difference I found at close inspection (enough to make me not use them) is that at the bottom behind the front wheel, the verts had trim that was clipped on (with two holes drilled through the fender for the clips) that my '89 does not have. Plus, where the trim sits on the vert, the fender is indented. On the '89, the fender actually bumps outward in that location.

I'm assuming the fender would otherwise bolt onto the car?

                        ^^ You sir are correct.
My fenders was fucked on my vert. All of us vert owners know what its like to find good fenders. So I just got coupe fenders and hacked the bottoms off and welded on my vert bottoms.

Man, just my luck. The main reason I bought these fenders is cause they have a nice, fresh Zinno paint job. I'd hate to cut them up to make them match my '89 coupe.

So... if anyone wants a nice set of Zinno vert fenders, let me know. And apparently I'm still looking for a nice set of Zinno coupe fenders.
