I'm entertaining an idea of decreasing the number of cars that I own by getting rid of the iX that I was prepping for rallies.
The car started life as an auto 4 door. I bought it few years ago with a non-op auto TC. 5 speed swap was completed along with some other performance mods.
The car has 600 miles on it since all the work has been completed. I moved it from Columbus, OH to Albany, NY
Here's a list:
Motor:
Stock 160K bottom end with good compression 150-160 though out.
Rebuilt head with all brand new rocker arms, shafts, springs, retainers.
Brand new Alpina cam ($500)
All brand new seals and gaskets (front and rear main seals, head, cam, etc. If there's a gasket--it has been changed)
New bearing, seal, and gasket for diff and PS axle in the oil pan
IE urethane motor mounts
Brand new water pump
Timing belt/tensioner
Brand new distributor cap
Brand new rotor
Brand new injector O-rings
Refinished valve cover
New oil filler plug.
New head bolts (obviously)
Transfer case:
Complete rebuild 5 speed with original BMW parts (bearings, seals, shims etc.)
Brand new Original BMW mount.
I reused VC and chain from donor 5 speed car which I parted out myself due to rust. Both were operational.
Tranny and clutch:
Changed all 3 seals in tranny.
Short shifter (brand new rod joing/selector rod/shims)
Brand new master and slave clutch cylinders
JB 8 lb flywheel
Brand new pressure plate and clutch disk
Brand new front and rear guibos
Brand new clutch hose
Diffs/Axles:
4.10 out of automatic.
Front diff--all new seals and gaskets.
Brand new axle boots (all 4) in the front
Wheels:
5 stock 15" iX basket weaves with no tires on them
1 iX basket weave with tire on it
14" bottle caps with Kumho R700 rally tires on them. I've used them on my blue car before. About 50% of thread left.
2 14" bottle caps with Hoosier Dirtstockers on them 25% percent of thread left
Suspension:
Brand new Original BMW control arms
Brand new Original BMW tie rods
SA Konis all around
TC Kline rear upper shock mounts
SRS Eiback Springs in the front
TC Kline springs in the rear
Removed front sway bar
Brand new E30 M3 offset CA bushings
Brand new wheel bearings in the front
Exhaust:
Supersprint muffler with new hardware
New heat shield gaskets on head.
ECU:
Original Turner chip
Brakes:
SS lines
Hawk HP+ front/HPS rear
Body:
Removed insulation in the engine bay.
Removed AC
No front bumper, was going to receive this treatment:
Also included:
Auto TC with all the parts neccessary to do a rebuild (bearings, seals, shims, mount. All Original BMW)
Front sway bar.
Several sets of front sway bar links.
Pass side iX trailing arm.
Several iX hubs
Pass side AW-II door.
Extra iX oil pan
If I count parts and labor I have at least 12K into it.
I'd like to get 6k with everything. Although it is perfectly drivable now, I can deliver it at $1.25/mile loaded mile (400 radius) and $1.50 mile if farther than 400 miles.
