[CLOSED] WTB: 89-91 E30 325is/i Coupe - SoCal, cash ready

Hey all - based in North County SD, looking for a well-maintained 89-91 E30 325is/i coupe to drive as a daily and enjoy on the backroads. Prioritizing a clean shell with honest history over a fresh drivetrain.

    Looking for:
    - Model: 1989-1991 325is or 325i 2-door coupe
    - Engine: Factory M20B25 (tired-but-running OK if the rest of the car is right) or a sorted M20B25 / M50 / S52 conversion that can pass CA smog.
    - Transmission: Manual only (factory or quality conversion - BimmerHeads-tier shop work a plus)
    - Differential: Factory or aftermarket LSD a strong plus (3.46-4.10 ratio); open diff acceptable if other criteria fit.
    - Exterior: Alpinweiss, Schwarz, Diamantschwarz, Delphin, or Sterling silver in factory color - open to resprays. Not interested in other colors (red, bronzit beige, custom). M-Tech I/II kits a plus.
    - Interior: Factory leather (Schwarz, Natur, grey) or Sport cloth in decent condition. M-Tech I/II preferred; period aftermarket (Momo, Nardi) welcome.
    - Maintenance: Refreshed cooling system, documented timing belt service. Clean structure, no subframe cracks, no rust. More documentation = better price.
    - Mileage: Anywhere from 50k-300k miles, but documentation matters more than the odometer.
    - Title: Clean title in seller's name, smog-passable in CA. CA preferred but rust-free western state cars welcome (AZ/NV/eastern OR/WA).

    Other considerations:
    - Enthusiast upgrades welcome: M-Tech I/II body kits, Coilovers (GC, KW, Bilstein/Eibach), Z3 or E36 M3 rack swap, fresh bushings, short shifter, etc.
    - Flexible on: Minor chips and honest wear, dash cracks, worn driver bolster, higher miles with documentation.
    - Not interested in: Not CA street legal, sedans, convertibles, touring, eta drivetrains, any paint colors outside white, grey, black (including red, beige, etc.), roll cages, drift builds, non-running projects.

If you're thinking about selling to the right home - or know someone who is - send me a message with photos, details, and asking price. Cash ready & can close quickly. Happy to travel anywhere in California, open to the broader West Coast for the right car.

Hey, appreciate you flagging this. I love how bold this build is but am going to pass. Looking for CA street legal 325is/i coupe I can use as a daily while I sort out the OEM+ path. Best of luck with the sale!

Hi tshammel, my car is street legal and works well as a daily. DMV tags are already paid and smog check was done recently. You'll save a lot of money not having to buy mods or pay labor to install them. Plus my car used to be owned by MR325 which is one of the owners of BimmerHeads.

Hey Zesty - appreciate the follow up on smog and registration, and the BimmerHeads background is awesome. Still going to pass though. Between the front-end work I'd want to do on the grill/hood, interior upgrades I'd want to do, and the long-term insurance/resale cost impact from the salvage title, the math doesn't pencil out for what I'm building toward. Sounds like a very fun car for the right buyer though - good luck with the sale.
