    SOLD: 2x 325e parts cars - $200obo (Greenfield, MA)

    Yellow car is sold.

Update: Bronzit car not currently available, but will probably be available again in a year or two... Will post again once it's ready to go.

    ***ORIGINAL POST***

These two cars are probably worthless, but before going to the scrap yard (almost certainly to get crushed rather than parted out) let's see if there's any interest at all. They're currently at my parent's house, and one of my goals for visiting this Thanksgiving is to get them cleared off my parent's property: I'm going to be in town the 21-28 of November. I need to either sell these cars or scrap them. Price: $200 each, or make an offer. Scrap metal price is probably >$200 each, but if you come and pick them up I'll take less. The less work I have to do the less money I'll accept. We can load them onto your truck or trailer with a tractor.

These cars have been sitting outdoors, unused for ~15-18 years. They were both purchased as "parts cars" for my "main" e30, henceforth known as the "blue" e30, which was also sitting for 11 years, and which I recently pulled back from the grave and started restoring. Based on the condition of my "good" car, I can tell you two things: I wouldn't assume any given part on either car is usable, but also, some things hold up surprisingly well over the years. If you have the time, space, and energy, you might be able to salvage a few good bits off these cars. The undercarriage on both is probably trashed, due to sitting in a forest in relatively damp/humid conditions of MA for over a decade.

    The cars:
    1. Yellow car - I bought this with the idea of using it for parts, but I never did. Instead I stripped the interior and beat it around my parent's farm for a summer. It was running when parked 15 years ago. Not sure the last time it was started or driven, since my dad moved it at some point. It was nothing fancy. Just a base 325e, manual transmission. Grey cloth interior, but who knows if any of it's usable. 1987, >244,000 miles. Title in hand. Pictures show it with the sport seats from the bronzit car.
    2. Bronzit car - This car donated it's engine to my blue e30, in fact I bought the two as a pair for that exact purpose in 2004. It's a 1986 325es - had all the nice sport bits, plus the fancy multi-button computer. I pulled a lot of good parts off this car over the years, so hard to say what's left that's of any value. I'm 95% certain it has a 2.96:1 LSD in the back, and if there's no interest in the whole car I might spend an afternoon pulling it and anything else I think is valuable. >300,000 miles. Title in hand.
    Other bits:
I have a bunch of other parts, too: Lots of bottlecaps, an eta motor with a broken timing belt (from 1984 - for those who think these might have had higher compression it might be a unicorn?) The 5-spd manual transmission is included with it. ~180k miles. No idea what the full inventory is, but it's approximately enough parts for two full cars. I didn't throw much away over the years. There might be some misc parts from other e30's or aftermarket stuff. I know I have an 885 head that got water in the oil and the cam seized.

I will be pulling the cars out of the forest on the 21st and staging for removing parts and/or selling/scrapping. If I don't have anyone pick up the cars by the 27th, I'll scrap them on Monday the 28th.

I *MIGHT* be willing to pull a part and sell it if it's relatively easy to get to and high value, but this seems pretty unlikely, but if you know there's some unobtanium, hit me up and I'll see what I can do.
