So it looks like I'll be adding something new and fun to my side business (BMW parts and accessories), but to pull it off, I'll need something that has more room, and I've found what appears to be an E39 Touring that is what I would have ordered from the factory, so I'm putting the iX out there.
I'm asking $5500.
Yes, there are iX's to be had for far less. Have fun spending more than twice the purchase price keeping it on the road, not to mention one that presents this well. I drive this car every day, I have complete faith in it and it isn't a rusty heap, which is something that took me over a year of searching to find in an iX. It has good ownership history and records. Here is my write-up on it - I'm pretty picky...
It has been a really great car. 176K miles, soon to be 177K since it is a daily driver. Since I've had it it has a new clutch (~1 year ago) and a few other things (including a new battery), regular oil changes and has been cared for - it starts, runs and shifts fine.
The AWD system works perfectly (the snow day recently was fun!). I've added Euro grills. It needs a valve cover gasket (which I'm going to do in the next week or two no matter what). I just changed the oil and had it looked over a bit at my local shop. The fluids in the tranny, diff and transfer case are all fresh. The brake lining light is on, which my shop told me was likely a bad sensor more than brakes, but I do have a fully new set of rotors and pads (front and rear) to throw on.
I put brand new ASA-AR1 wheels on all corners with new Pirelli P-Zero Nero M&S tires (all season) which have been awesome. I just replaced the rears, the fronts look excellent (I'd guess 60%+). It had an alignment when I replaced the tires. The suspension is Bilstein HD shocks and is still pretty fresh - handles great.
The glove box is stuck.
There is a small spot on the sunroof that is bubbling - it is under the paint and hasn't spread since I got the car. I'm assuming it is rust, but since it hasn't spread I'm not messing with it. There is a small chip out of the undercoating of the rear spoiler that needs touching up. There are areas on the body on either side of the trunk (on the body not the lid) that look like a spoiler or something scraped the paint that has been badly touched up. The nose has a fair bit of rock-chipping and other minor defects. If I keep the car, I'll be investing in the Dr. Colorchip kit for all these areas, which I've heard works wonders. All this sounds a lot worse than it is - the car presents very well.
The seats are E30 M3 sport seats that are a little scruffy (creased but not torn or ripped, could use a good Leatherique job), but are still really soft and comfortable. They've been covered since I got the car. They are supposed to be heated seats, and the iX is wired for that, but I've never hooked it up to try them out. I have BMW cloth seatcovers (that mainly fit) and a fairly new set of lambskin covers that fit very well (don't recall if they are BMW or not) - both are included.
The rest of the interior is pretty nice. No dash cracks, carpet is pretty clean. The car came with some all-weather mats that are a bit of a hack, but have been great. It has the pass-thru ski bag. It has a lighted ///M shift knob and an Alpine radio/CD player. Speakers still sound great.
I converted the AC when I bought it - new compressor, drier, etc. so the AC works great. It has the TMS chip and an aftermarket exhaust. The timing belt was pretty recent when I got the car, as were the suspension and brakes (the other reason I think the light is a sensor). The sunroof is out of adjustment and probably needs lubrication - it only tilts up and is now a little reluctant to go down. I never open the sunroof (even on the M635), so I've never had it looked at.
I've got a bunch of service records going back at least two owners before me, and both of them are BMW enthusiast types as well (even met the owner before the guy who sold it to me on Bimmerforums!). I have a box with some parts and new 325iX badging.

E-mail me with questions at e24mpwr (at) gmail (dot) com. I don't have to sell the car (we have a minivan, but it just wouldn't be as much fun for what I'll be doing), so I'm not going to accept any lowball offers. Thanks!
