    Feeler: 1989 325i 2dr 5sp 88k miles Mint!

Not real sure I wanna sell but i guess this is why its a feeler. I havent posted anywhere else yet so we will see how this goes. I have a really clean 1989 325i with 5sp. It has 88,000 original miles. Its extremely clean with not a speck of rust, seriously no rust. It had a couple small dings that I had removed and you cant even tell they were there. Interior is perfect. I put in a Black leather sport interior. The black leather seats are in good shape but you can see some wear. Absolutely nothing is wrong with this car. I am the third owner and I have all maintenance records since 1991. I have seen a lot of E30's and this is one of the nicest iv'e ever seen. Other than the sport interior this car is bone stock. I have an S52 sitting here I was going to put into it but I just don't know if I'm up for it. S52 for sale as well. But I guess I would like to hear some honest opinions on what you guys think this car is worth.

Never in my right mind would I throw an s52 in an 88k mile e30 unless it's blown. What are you asking for the car?

So you don't have a hard time pricing it, I guess I'll go over there and take the car and swap off your hands, I'll deal with that problem.. But seriously that is one CLEAN e30..

Well that's why I have decided not to its just too nice. And they are getting harder and harder to come by in this condition. I do have a 1987 325is sitting in the garage with an empty engine bay that would be perfect for the swap. But anyways, Idk what i'm asking for the car. That was kinda why I put up this feeler. I dont want to say too much and everyone say i'm out of my mind. But I dont wanna go low and lose money. I guess I would ask around 8K.:???:

          Thanks for the comments everyone.

that is a fair (optimistic) asking price if it is indeed as nice as you say it is.

also, for what its worth, i don't think its that terrible to take out an m20 for an s52, even if it only has 88k miles on it, unless you are really trying to keep the car original. it's not like you're removing a perfectly good S14...

and IMO id say 8k is ridiculous. Comparing that to what i paid for my cabrio with 83k. And its actually a pretty obscure model. just my .02. GLWS!

If this is truly mint, don't put the s52 in the car. You will get more money for the car with the M20 in it in my opinion. Try the roundel magazine, there is a lot more money floating around there and people willing to spend it on an unmolested very low mile E30. You can put an S52 in any E30!!!!! 8K maybe a tad high but not to far off, once again if this is in showroom condition.

just the car without the s52... he made it pretty clear the s52 is seperate.

imo ... none of these e30s sells anyway. No one buys them, people just put up rediculous prices one after another, and then other people that wants to sell thier car sees it and post thier's even higher as if though the car they base off of, was sold... Shrug. 8k... I put my life on it that you will never sell it.ever. more like 4k or 5k at most.

case n point, vlads e30 m3 cabrio rep, and the recent alpine alpina build.

people will ooo wow and cheer you till the finish line, but you wont be getting a single dime, casue quite simply it isnt worth that much.

Interesting and valid points. I still see Vlad's old red cabrio on Ebay from time to time starting at $15k. I guess sort of along the lines of VW crowd trying to sell $3000 rims for '84 Rabbits.

You know.. You wouldnt know it surfing around these forums with guys like you. But nice, clean, low mile, original e30's can fetch decent coin. The car is getting old now, and theres alot of older BMW guys that once owned e30's brand new, and would like to re-live those years. My pops being one of them. If you think about what you can buy in that price range thats 100% original with all documentation, it doesnt seem so crazy.

(My pops is in long island , not sure he'd want to travel that far. glws.)

I call your bs. the day you spend your hard earn dollar on this car and pay 8 grand, than I will stand correct. Like I said, people that are most adament about how much thier car is worth or thier "uncle, or dads" are the ones owning the car, or the ones that talks about it that never spends a dime. Doesnt mean it actually is worth that much, and the later will never pay anything close to that. I'm done screwing up this guys thread, I made a point to give him a value, not start a pissing contest. I say 4k.

G/L with sale OP. Add the S52 to the deal, and it might be possible. There are fully swapped 24v cars with 5 lug going for right around $8k. Most of them with a full rebuild on the engine. Just some food for thought.
