    1987 325is white/tan 180K 5-speed, New Leather on Sport Seats, All Maint. $4,900

This is a 1987 325is 5-speed with ~180K on the clock. It belongs to a long time customer of mine, and is in very good condition.

    Asking price is $4,500 OBO

If you check my sig, you will see that I have a BMW specialty shop with a primary focus on the e30. There are definitely those that know more than me, but I can tell you with confidence that I am quite familiar with these cars and their trouble areas.

That being said, let's just get the few flaws of this car out of the way before I start with the good attributes:

    1. The car has been repainted in base-clear, WELL, but in a non-factory white. It is apparently a Subaru white vs. Alpine II. There are a few blemishes here and there, but all in all it presents very nicely.
    2. The air dam and sunroof panel have been painted the right color, but with a color-matched spray paint vs an actual body-shop grade paint system. This makes them fairly dull.
    3. The car has newer shocks and struts, but they are Boge. This would be perfect on a 325i, but the "is" package should have a Bilstein set-up
    4. As you can see, the basket weave wheels are missing. I have a VERY nice set that can be negotiated into the deal if the new owner would like.
    5. There is a slight ground buzz through the stereo that I have not looked at. It fluctuates with RPM.
    6. The odometer gears were broken at one point, so mileage is not exact (I can get more information on this).

Okay, now that the potential surprises are out of the way, here are the better attributes of this car:

The front sport seats have been professionally reupholstered in leather

    Little to no Rust!

    Service within the last 10K
    -Timing Belt
    -Water Pump
-ALL coolant hoses (radiator, heater, throttle body, etc.)
    -BMW original coolant in 03/2009
-Intake manifold gaskets and o-rings replaced
    -Clutch in 08/2008
-Shift Linkage rebuilt w/ new bushings
    -M3 offset CA bushings
    -Master Cylinder
-AC converted to 134 a with new evaporator and expansion valve
    -Tail light seals replaced
    -Redline MTL in gear box
    -Odometer Gears replaced

    crack free dash
Michelin MXV tires with excellent tread
The car looks and drives just as it should!

Its a little high, but its getting harder to find these in rust free and near mint condition. That interior look perfect!

If you've still got this in a month or so, I'll be interested in it for sure!

It would be difficult to find one in better shape for the money. There are always STEALS and DEALS, but I can guarantee that there are also a lot of cars changing hands for $2,000-$3,000 that need another $3,000 (parts and professional labor) to get them even close to this car.

A little info on the odometer:

The best I can tell from the records, the car has 166K on a working odometer in October of 2006. The current owner bought the car in March of this year, at which point it had a broken odometer at 169K.

Obviously 3K miles in 1.5 years is a bit light. You can estimate another 10-15K to take the approximate mileage to be 190-195K.

I don't necessarily think mileage is as important when all of the mileage induced issues have been addressed, but I also want to represent the car in the most fair and honest way possible.

Finally, it should be stated that the title is marked "not actual" or "exempt" in the mileage section.

I completely agree. I learned this the hard way with so many cars, you would think I would have learned the first time. I think your price is spot on. GLWS.
